Artifact 6 : the creation of an art piece.

This is my art work for artifact 6. The name of this work is called The Neighborhood. In this work, I pretended that I had seen this scene of the poor and homeless boy sitting at the side of the dirty side walk, while the riches  in black jacket walk past them, kind of ignoring them, which to me, is sad, heart-breaking and cruel.

Reflections:
1.      a) Which main topic does the artifact relate to? In what ways?
This artifact relates to Urbanization but mostly, the modern economy and also Class Consciousness lousiness, it shows how and what becomes of when a urban city is formulated.  The poor boy sitting on the side of sidewalk , looking deserted with filthy clothes and rich men on the road
depicts Class Consciousness.
2.       b) Which other main topics does it also relate to?
this artifact also relates to the Human health. As you can see, there are dung piles, trash scattered on the side walks and roads, and a rat creeping out of the hole  means of worse sanity in cities. this have infected many people to suffer from numerous diseases and fatal problems in health. 

3.      2. Why did you choose this artifact, and how much time did you spend creating and/or processing it?
i drew for this artifact because, i usually like to express things in pictures then in words. I spent alot of time drawing this, especially creating great details and symbols in the picture.

act?
I understood more about how people lived in the cities and also develop many feeling and ideas regarding to this situation.

Um i think this artifact was a O.K effort to me, though i enjoyed most of my time drawing this.

it relates the Invention, Ingenuity, and Entrepreneurship topic.  in my idea page,  I jotted down information about the cotton factory game , hat based on how business entrepreneur earned and conducted their factories during the Industrial Revolution.

This also relates to Building of the Modern Economy.
3.          Why did you choose this artifact, and how much time did you spend creating and/or processing it?
i choose this artifact, because it had a lot of great meaningful details with colorful pictures. I used a bit of time processing this

Not alot. well i learned about externalized  cost and  cost- benefit analysis.

not my best work, because i quite lacked a brain powers to think of new ideas out this piece.

Artifacts5: Google Earth tour

OW!, the problem is .....i dun't know or im having a problem uploading Google earth tour on blogger.

The top 10 London Museums:


1. The British Museum
it was opened by Queen Elizabeth II in 2000. The British Museum contains a huge amount of human history and culture in London. Its collections, which number more than seven million objects, are amongst the largest and most comprehensive in the world and originate from all continents, illustrating and documenting the story if human culture from its beginnings to the present.




2.  The Victoria and Albert Museum
The Victoria and Albert Museum is the world's largest museum of decorative arts and design, housing a permanent collection of over 4.5 million objects. This fantastic palace was named after Queen Victoria and Prince Albert, to honour them and it was created in 1852.




3. The Tate Modern
Tate Modern is located in London. It is Britain's  national museum of international modern arts, for it consist of large amounts of modern art and contemporary art from all around the world. It is related to Tate Britain, which is one i will later talk about.






4. The National  Gallery
The national gallery consists of a collection of over 2,300 paintings dating back from the time in the mid-13th century to 1900. IT settles in the Trafalgar square and was founded in 1824. It is unique and known for its special exhibits of  royal and princely art collection.






6. The  National Portrait gallery
The national Portrait Gallery is an Art gallery consisting of collections of historically, important and famous British people.






7. Tate Britain

Tate Britain is an art gallery situated on Millbank in London, and part of the Tate gallery network in Britain, with Tate ModernTate Liverpool and Tate St IvesIt is the oldest gallery in the network, opening in 1897. It houses a substantial collection of the works of J.M.W. Turner.-- Wikipedia

Artifact 9: Student's Choice: Surgery - Victorian Times

 
REFLECTION
1.      a) Which main topic does the artifact relate to? In what ways?
This video relates to human health. It showed about how were the surgeries like, and how it worked in the Victorian Era. Which also means about the study of human body, anatomy in England during the 1800s.
2.       b) Which other main topics does it also relate to?
it also relates to Evolution of Science. 
3.      2. Why did you choose this artifact, and how much time did you spend creating and/or processing it?
I choose this artifact because it was interesting and something most people are would take a peek at it. It was cool but disgusting to see how the surgeon tools were used at that time. 
It took a while to find a great video like this on youtube and spent quite a bit of thinking about this.
4.      3. What insights and understanding have you gained from the creation and/or processing of this artif
act?
I learned about how people-doctors- thought about ways to cure the human body in the 1800s.They had created tools that are still used nowadays in modern surgeries. Also about how infections and diseases spread allover England that reached the top toll.

i think i did O.K on this artifact. I was so happy  when i found a excellent video precisely and clearly talking about medical stuff.

Artifact 7: influential Artist: Turner

J.M.W Turner


"Joseph Mallord William Turner, the son of a barber and wigmaker, was born in London in 1775. As a child Turner made money by colouring engravings for his father's customers. At the age of 14 he entered the Royal Academy. He exhibited his first drawing, A View of the Archbishop's Palace in Lambeth in 1790. Two years later he providing illustrations for theCopperplate Magazine and the Pocket Magazine.

In 1792 Turner went on his first sketching tour. Most of his pictures during this period were cathedrals, abbeys, bridges and towns but in 1796 he became interested in painting pictures of the sea. He also began touring with his artist friend,
Thomas Girton.

By 1800 Turner was acknowledged as one of Britain's leading topographical watercolourist. He received several commissions to illustrate books. His artistic ability was recognised when he was elected an associate of the Royal Academy.

In 1803 Turner's style changed. His impressionistic 
Calais Pier was criticised as being unfinished. For the next few years he was attacked by the critics and he had difficulty selling his paintings. One critic called Turner's landscapes "pictures of nothing, and very alike." Turner had his supporters, including John Ruskin, who described his paintings as "true, beautiful and intellectual". 

In 1844 Turner turned his attention to railways and painted 
Rain, Steam and Speed - The Great Western RailwayJ. M. W. Turner died at his cottage in Chelsea in 1851. He left some three hundred paintings and nineteen thousand watercolours to the nation."-------------------- -
